The provincial visitation to Simon Srugi Novitiate Community

The provincial, Fr. Michael Karikunnel arrived in Simon Srugi Novitiate community on the 30th of December 2016 around 10:00pm for his annual canonical visitation. He was duly welcomed by the members of the community and the Novices sang marvelously well with their melodious voices expressing their joy at having their father with them. The provincial in response to the welcome, after the official welcoming remark from the Rector of the community Fr Chuks, appreciated everybody for the friendly gestures in welcoming him to the Novitiate which is so dear to his heart.
His visitation was characterized by conferences, advices, encouragements, good night talks, fraternal and paternal sharing and chats with the members of the community and the novices. On the 1st of January 2016, he and his vicar departed early in the morning for Tatale as part of his visitation schedule, returning to the community in the evening of 5th. He briefed the community about his visits, the state and condition of the confreres there and their mission.
At the dawn of the new day being the 6th December, he continued with his visitation activities and on the 7th he concluded his visitation in the evening with a conference; where he educated the Novices, with the help of the constitution, on the aim and the importance of the Novitiate year. In conclusion, he encouraged and urged everybody to be good educators and pastors of the young by deeds and examples especially in the community and the various places of apostolate.
The community under the delegation of the Rector joined her voices to become one by expressing her heartfelt gratitude and joy for his tender love, care and support and also promised to support him by praying for him and the entire province. To crown it all, the Novices sang a farewell song for him, thanking him for his fatherly love and care.
